Pictorial Tour: Dilli Haat

deepika.gill : April 9, 2012 7:35 pm : Jewelry

Located near the INA market is this beautiful place called Dilli Haat. If you are one of those who love handicrafts and jewelry, then Dilli Haat is the place to be. The beauty of this place cannot be defined in words, it compels me to visit this place at least once a month. There are various exhibitions going on here throughout the year. Ethnic jewelry, pottery, furniture, bags, clothes, you can find it all in this open air market. If you are travelling by metro, then you can get down at the INA station, from there its a 5 min walk to this beautiful place. Here are some pics of Dilli Haat:

I hope you guys enjoy the post :)

Love,

Deepika :)

DIY: Ring Organization and Display

deepika.gill : March 23, 2012 6:47 pm : Jewelry

I wanted to do a DIY today and I wanted it to be related to jewelry. While talking to one of my friends who loves rings but was confused about storing them, I decided I would do a DIY on that. This is very very simple, the only skill you need is “LOVE FOR CHOCOLATES” LOL! I mean I am serious! You just need chocolate boxes to store your rings. Its easy, cheap and useful!

So here’s how you can use your chocolate boxes to store rings or any other small trinkets that can fit in:

These are the boxes from the chocolates my SIL (Bhabhi) got for me :D

How do you organise your accessories? Any ideas?

Love,

Deepika :)

Pictorial Tour: Meena Bazar

deepika.gill : March 23, 2012 1:52 am : Jewelry

I visited this place first time almost an year ago when I went on Dilli Darshan with my mom. Meena bazaar is basically a market in the form of a tunnel in the Red fort in Delhi. Color is the one word that comes to mind when I think about this place. Beautiful handcrafted jewelry is what you’ll find easily and majorly at this place, then there are antique pieces, bags, show pieces and souvenirs. Being a tourist place the crowd here is mixed.

So here’s what the place looks like:

I loved these silver earrings :)

I loved these rings too :D

I love love love beads

I so wish to organise my beads this way!

Isn’t the necklace in the middle of the first row adorable ? :)

Statement Necklaces anyone? I instantly fell in love with these :D

That shop was full of beautiful stuff!!

The Tickets :P

Phew! It was hard to wrap up the post in just 21 pictures! I mean there were so many beautiful things there! I would highly recommend this place for jewelry lovers, especially if you love unique and colorful pieces :) Happy Shopping!

Love,

Deepika :)

Today’s post is dedicated to my BFF, Priya. I took these pics while we were shooting for a new collection of Deepika Designs. She isn’t much of jewelry wearer and likes subtle accessories, this necklace suits her style exactly. This necklace is specially designed for people who like subtle pieces. Here’s what it looks like:

A closer look at the charms

And here’s my charming friend :)  (She was trying to imitate my pose :D )
